Evolution Unchained

The spiny tailed lizard almost looks like snapshot in time from the prehistoric era. However this ground dwelling herbivorous lizard from Indian subcontinent, brings a lot more to fruit apart from the uncanny resemblance to dinosaurs.

This species of lizard supports the desert ecosystem through seed dispersal and are a significant prey source for raptors and mammalian predators.

These lizards can survive extreme hot weather, what they can’t survive is rapid urbanisation and poaching that could seriously impact the complex web of life. Who knows if we curb our destruction, we will let the strings of evolution remain unchanged.
